We look at your population and consider their English levels and other factors (e.g., if you have a lot of newcomers or long-term English learners). With your structure and population in mind, we help your program reach that next level.

Well-rounded content

Our sessions involve research-based strategies and best practices that will benefit all types of diverse learners. We have content-specific sessions in the four core areas, as well as a multitude of other areas. It’s important to make sure that there is support in career tech, music, art, health and all other classes that English learners take.

Immediate implementation

By incorporating content specific resources and utilizing strategies that are tailored for specific areas, teachers see immediately how to implement these ideas into their practice. Session planning

Sessions do not have to be divided by content area. Most frequently, we have a mix of disciplines in attendance. In that case, we include strategies that can be used in multiple contexts and settings. We embed some content-specific examples, and approach the entire learning environment including room set up, classroom routines and procedures, and cultural considerations. We cover the four domains of reading, writing, listening, and speaking, but can also focus intensely in a particular domain. Training support staff is also an important area to cover. We have trainings that address wraparound supports and the staff that are working with ELs and their families including administrators, guidance counselors, support staff and administrative assistants.
